Equitix is a leading investor, developer and long-term fund manager of core infrastructure and energy efficiency assets in the United Kingdom. It has successfully raised £4 billion of equity, including managed accounts and is managed by four senior investment professionals who collectively have over 100 years of industry experience focused on the public sector.
The Manager’s investment strategy focuses on small to mid-cap infrastructure projects, located in the UK and Europe and covering a wide range of sectors with a particular focus on social infrastructure and renewable energy. Across all of its core funds, Equitix seeks to hold assets for the life of their funds.
With over 250 core infrastructure projects acquired since the firm’s inception in 2007, Equitix has institutionalised its distinctive approach to infrastructure investing and has been exhibiting a predictable rate of deployment throughout its history.
Equitix has established a strong reputation as a leading developer, trusted partner, operator and fiduciary fund manager.
A Unique Structure
Equitix is uniquely structured to incorporate two complementary platforms allowing the business to bid competitively in both the primary and secondary infrastructure markets.
Equitix Ltd, a separate subsidiary within Equitix, will acts as a primary bidder or developer of a select number of infrastructure projects which the Funds will have the exclusive ability, but not the obligation, to acquire.
This distinctive structure allows investors to access a proprietary pipeline of developed core infrastructure assets whilst also investing in secondary market opportunities, which should provide investors with more immediate yield.
Leveraging this compelling structure and the resulting differentiated approach to opportunity sourcing, enables Equitix to build a diversified portfolios of assets generating stable, consistent and inflation-linked cash flows over the life of each Fund.
The Equitix investment strategy focuses on building diversified portfolios of core infrastructure assets, primarily located in the UK.
Equitix makes equity investments into core infrastructure assets and aims to deliver stable, inflation-linked, cash flows over the life of the Fund, backed by government or quasi-government bodies, in the form of service or lease payments provided via creditworthy public institutions.
Equitix pursues opportunities in both the primary and secondary infrastructure markets and looks to minimise the J-curve by investing a significant proportion of a Fund in operational infrastructure assets.
The investment strategy of Equitix’s core infrastructure funds is designed to take advantage of the attractive risk/return characteristics of core infrastructure assets:
- Predictable yields through stable long-term contracted cash flows
- Long duration asset life linked to inflation
- Limited default and financing risk with limited exposure to macro-economic volatility
